Introduction - Chantelle Lamb

Hello! My name is Chantelle Lamb! I am nineteen, I  will be twenty in April. I am a proud and devoted  mommy of a one year old, Braxen Lee. His birthday was two days ago! He definitely is my motivation and keeps me going each and every day! I did have him pretty young but that just means that I will be able to spend more time with him in the long run! I am  full time student here at OTC, and this is my second semester as well. My plan is to get my general education courses finished here at OTC and then transfer to MSU to receive my bachelor's degree. I have recently just changed my major from education to social work. I really want to be a case worker for adolescent boys and girls that have been raped, abused or neglected. I stay very busy with 12 hours of school, 35 hours of work and trying to soak up all the time I get with my little man. Family and friends are a huge part of my life and I honestly can say I don't know where I would be without them today. I am an only child but my mom and I are the best of friends! Even though I am an only child I do have a sister but we just aren't blood and her name is Ashleigh. She is blonde and silly just like I am. I have known her for years and really have looked up to her my whole life. In my spare time, which doesn't happen very often, I love to play slow pitch softball. I played fast pitch softball since I was eight and I still enjoy to get on the field because it brings back such great memories. Well, I wish all you luck on furthering your education and I hope you have an amazing semester!

Your hectic schedule sounds a lot like mine. I always laugh when I hear someone complain about not having the time to do something when they are just an unemployed part time student. I'd like to see them try to do what you and I do daily!

I love your outlook about having your baby young! I love it! Your son is so beautiful too. I can't imagine how hard it is leaving that face every morning to go to school. Glad you can still pursue your goals!

I really like that you called her your sister. I have a lot of family members that were adopted and it just goes to show that blood doesnt always matter with family. (:

Happy Birthday to your little man!! My fiance and I had our own son, Logan, 3 months and 3 weeks ago. He is getting so big so fast !! He had his first bumbo experience yesterday and did extremely good. I also work 30 hours a week, am a full-time student, and military duties. It only makes us stronger !

I volunteer with a group for high risk kids between the ages of 13-21 and most of them are dealing with horrible home situations, sexual abuse or or drug problems. It's always really hard to hear their stories but being able to help them even if it is just a small way is the most rewarding feeling. I'm really glad to get to meet someone new who wants to help out high risk youth too!

So good to see you and Leslie again this semester ;-) Braxton is adorable and I love how you are such a good mom and hardworking to boot!

I had no idea you play softball! I played for years also when i was young- slow pitch. You would kick my rear with fast pitch but we should get together and play sometime...that is when you have it! haha! Here's to another fun semester.

My mom actually does what you're going into! It's a great field... Especially if you have a heart for kids, you'll love it! I love MSU! I definitely say go for it. They help you out tons.
