Autumn Kallsen - Intro

I'm from a very small town where people are the minority compared to cows, horses and other farm animals. Life was simple, slow and relaxing. Although I hated living in such a small town growing up I sometimes miss the simplicity of it now. I have a younger brother, whose hobby seems to be anything that annoys me. My boyfriend’s name is Matt and we have been together for five years.  I moved to Springfield with him about a year ago so I could be closer to school and he could be closer to work.
I have one very large spoiled Shiloh Shepard puppy, who probably is to smart for his own good, named Rusty L. Shackle-ford, but Rusty for short. Although he is a 90 pound 9 month old puppy he seems to think that it’s acceptable to be a lap dog. I have invested a lot of time and money into him in hopes he will eventually graduate and become a therapy dog. Along with that monster of a dog we also have two ball pythons. Needless to say I’m a huge animal person and one day after I have my career I would love to open up a rescue.
In my free time when my nose isn't stuck in a book, at work or practicing ASL, I could probably be found on the back of my boyfriend’s street bike. Although hopefully I will have my own soon, I have my eye on a white gsxr 600. We are looking forward to Ride of the Century in Saint Louis this fall. I'm attending OTC to get my A.A.S degree so I can be an Occupational Therapy Assistant with the intentions of eventually transferring to MSU.

Good luck with your large lap dog! Mine is the same way. And I am terrified of snakes so I don't understand how people keep them as pets, so that's crazy!

After reading your blog I see that we have two things in common. We are both going to MSU after we finish here and we also have some monstrous lap dogs. At home I have an 80 pound boxer/pitt named Kaeda who thinks she is still just a pup.

I love being in small towns! I'm sure it probably gets old not having anything close, but I think that could also be a positive about it.

I know exactly how you feel about the simplicity of a small town. I'm also from a small town but not nearly as small as yours from the sound of it. I get stressed out from Springfield and everything going on at once so I moved out of town and away from everything..everything has slowed down and theres a lot less concrete.

Hi Autumn! I love how long you and your boyfriend have been together. It's nice seeing relationships that last these days :)
It's so cool that you like riding/driving a street bike.. my dad had one and I always loved riding on his bike. Except when it was raining of course.. feels like knives stabbing your whole body!

I am also an animal person. I absolutely adore them although I don't think I would be able to have pythons, my mom would freak out haha. I learned ASL in high school but I think I forgot the majority of it. Well good luck this semester.

Hi! I love the picture you posted of your baby and Christmas tree. That is so cute. I have a big dog myself and she thinks she too is a lap dog. Good luck this semester!
